MMOG Reviews
Okay, this is just a placeholder for one of my goals… over the last few years, I have tried several Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOG or MMORPG). As I play or think of them, review points come to mind with the typical blog thought: “I should post those somewhere”. Well, someday they will be here…
World of Warcraft (already blogged some on wowlol.net)
Pirates of the Burning Sea
EVE
Entropia
Age of Conan
Star Wars Galaxies
Star Wars Galaxies Trader Review
SWG is, like, the fifth Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) I have tried over the last few years. And, it keeps nagging at me to blog my findings somewhere… so let’s just do it!
So far, my impressions is that it is a very crude game, especially considering the 6+ years it has had to improve. Alot of MAJOR things that are common in a good MMOG are missing… such as a global chat which can be lurked while doing other things.
On the positive side, and largely why I have started playing it (despite the negative reviews it and Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) tend to get) is the player driven economy and that there are character professions one can play that have little to do with hack-and-slash treasure seeking. It has a very sophisticated crafting and buff system… *waaa!* maybe TOO sophisticated… so far, learning and using have been very difficult with required assistance of the small amount of info on the Internet.
Okay, hope to fill this in better later, just wanted to get something inputted.
