How good is iPod Touch for going online?

I’m considering buying an iPod Touch. I was wondering, to get online, is everything you need to do this included when you buy the item? I mean, do you need to buy any “extras”? (Like when you buy a printer, a lot of times the cable isn’t included and you need to buy it separately.)

Does the connection tend to be pretty fast, or is it really sluggish? What are the pros and cons of going online with a Touch?

The iPod Touch uses Wi-Fi, so if you already have a wireless router, then you’re good!
It’s actually surprisingly fast on the wi-fi connection. Of course there’s a notice in speed if you’re on a laptop and comparing to the iPod Touch, but it’s still very fast.
The pros is that you don’t need to carry around a laptop to check your email.
Cons is that there’s no Flash player, so any websites with flash won’t display the flash part. Also, Mobile Safari pauses the page when you go to a new tab or go to a different application. This causes the online instant messengers (meebo, flickim, etc) to sign you off after a while.
When Apple said that the Safari web-browser was the best browsing app on a mobile device, they really meant it!
The websites look great on the iPod, it’s nearly as good as what you’d see on your computer screen. It’s also pretty fast – it’s using the 802.11b/g standard.
One of the cons is that it hasn’t got a Flash player, so it can’t view Flash content.
You don’t need to buy anything extra for it, all you need is a wireless connection and you’re good to go.
